iPods & iTunes in the Classroom

Why iPod & iTunes?
  1. Students love them and many already have one!
  2. iPod Touch can host hundreds of educational apps.
  3. They make learning on the go easy!
  4. iPod Touch is like a mini computer with Internet access, email and more when used in a wifi network.
  5. iTunes University is home to tons of free educational podcasts and lessons.
  6. Many of Apple's iPods allow students to watch video as well as listen.

Classroom Uses
  1. Communicate with students - Publish simple reminders and messages that students can listen to and scribe to with ease using iTunes and their iPod.
  2. Post review podcasts or vodcasts to allow students to learn anytime.
  3. Use apps, podcasts, vodcasts or images to help students learn and review.
  4. Allow struggling readers to listen to tests, readings or audio books to help them play, rewind and fast forward to listen and learn at their own pace.
  5. Scribe to age and content relevant podcasts or vodcasts and use the audio or video as bell ringers or enrichment to learning.
  6. Encourage more advanced students to learn more by listening to college lectures from iTunes U.

iTunes is a free download from Apple. You do not have to have an iPod to take advantage of all the wonderful educational opportunities on iTunes. It is also Mac and PC compatible.
